Types of Retainers We Offer
We fabricate retainers in house or through trusted labs, depending on your needs. Here are the most common types we provide:
Clear Removable Retainers (Essix Style)
These clear, snug-fitting retainers are made from transparent plastic and are ideal for maintaining alignment without drawing attention.

Removable Hawley Retainers
A traditional, durable option made of acrylic and stainless steel.
- Long-lasting and adjustable
- Want it to match your old one? Bring a photo (or the original) so we can recreate the look as closely as possible
Fixed/Bonded Retainers (Permanent Wire Retainers)
These are thin wires bonded behind the front teeth to hold them in place 24/7.
- Broken wire? We may be able to repair it in-office, if not, we’ll safely remove and replace it
- Can be paired with a clear removable retainer for backup
Insurance Coverage
We know that price is important, and we will always talk to you about your options ahead of time. But insurance doesn’t always pay replacement retainers, especially if the first one was given to you as part of your therapy.
